1.5 HOUR SIGHTSEEING CRUISEBoarding Pass

Rivers City Cruises offers a cost effective, relaxing and informative perspective of Brisbane’s distinctive river scene for both locals and visitors with its year-round cruises.

Enjoy the pale blue skies of a sub-tropical Winter, the flowering gardens of the River City in Spring, the embracing warmth and brilliant sunshine of Summer and the Autumn tones of the tree lined river banks with River City Cruises.

Owned by a local family which has been plying the river for more than 10 years, the company prides itself on its knowledge of the city and its surrounds, its legends, its history, its triumphs and its tragedies.

The river is central to the story of Brisbane and there is no better way to gain a feeling for this dynamic metropolis and its unique, relaxed lifestyle than to travel its river and sit back and watch the city and its people at work and play.

River City Cruises will transport you beneath the Captain Cook Bridge, following the curve of the river as it rounds the Botanical Gardens and glides past the glass and steel towers of the CBD where prestige offices and multi-million dollar apartments occupy some of the most sought after river front sites in the city.

Traveling beneath the city’s landmark Story Bridge, the cruise rounds Kangaroo Point, known for its small, white sandy beach, great pub and the site of an infamous colonial murder.

Continuing downstream, guests take in sights such as a former power station house which is now a theatre and restaurant complex and the genteel residences of some of the city’s more affluent citizens including a mansion that would not look out of place in ‘Gone With the Wind’, before reaching Newstead where the Breakfast Creek enters the river.

Here guests have the choice of disembarking and using a hop-on/hop-off cruise option, visiting Newstead House, the city’s oldest surviving residence and the monument to the Battle of the Coral Sea, one of the great naval battles of World War II.

That done, a short stroll over the Breakfast Creek Bridge will find them in the beer garden of The Breakfast Creek Hotel, built in 1889, one of the city’s defining watering holes and famed for its beer and steaks.

Throughout the cruise, our staff will provide an informative commentary while serving a complimentary morning tea with a drink or light lunch available from the onboard coffee shop and licensed bar.

All passengers receive a Souvenir Map with discount vouchers to other attractions and the hop-on/hop-off option to the popular Breakfast Creek precinct.

(Newstead House is open Monday to Thursday and lunch at the iconic Breakfast Creek Hotel is available for guests on the 10.30am cruise only).
